Tradition and history are two of the themes embodied in the newest uniforms of the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Both teams released their uniforms for the 2018 season, using elements from their classic looks as inspiration.
The Dolphins modernized their classic aqua and orange look, replacing the combination of dark blue and dulled orange that was used in numbers and stripes in favor of a more bold shade of orange.
In addition to the updated uniforms, Miami will also bring back its throwback uniform which will be worn twice during the 2018 season.
As part of the Nike Vapor Untouchable collection, the Jaguars brought back their teal alternates and revamped their home and away uniforms.
Like Miami, Jacksonville’s new uniforms are also a more modern design of the franchise’s earlier uniforms.
Not only are the teal uniforms back, but also the classic black helmet. However the 2018 version will use a glossy-black paint and the bumper will feature “JAX” to pay tribute to the city of Jacksonville.
For performance, the Jaguars’ new threads are designed to be seamless in the front and on the shoulders to give players more mobility and an expanded range of motion. Also a lighter look, the uniform weighs 20.4 ounces, nearly four ounces lighter than Nike’s standard football uniforms.
