How many dunks for Dudley?

Dec 16, 2011, 11:12 PM | Updated: 11:19 pm

It’s the biggest question of Suns training camp.

No, not who is going to be the back-up point guard or
starting shooting guard.

It’s, how many dunks will Jared Dudley have in 2011-2012?

“Eighteen!” he stated during the team’s one-week stay at
Grand Canyon University.

“Eighteen?” said a wide-eyed Steve Nash as he walked by.

Eighteen. Which, let’s be honest, is a good two, two-and-
a-half week stretch for prolific dunkers like Dwight
Howard and Blake Griffin.

Dudley though believes 18 is attainable.

Of course not everyone does, as teammate Josh Childress
jumped in on the conversation.

“I get what you’re saying,” Dudley told Childress, “but
I’m going by the last 25 (games and) I got ten (dunks).
So I’m thinking if you double (the number of games),
that’s 50 so I said, ‘You know what I’m going to go a
little below (doubling my dunk total from a year ago)’ so
it’s 18. That’s why I did 18.”

“See,” added Dudley with Childress still nearby, “I got a
doubter already.”

The Dudley dunk-o-meter starts December 26.
