Suns may miss Rondo Friday in Boston

The Suns may have caught another break on their road trip
with the possibility of going up against the Boston
Celtics without starting point guard Rajon Rondo.

Rondo attempted to brace for a landing while going up for
a basket against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, but
fell awkwardly on his right wrist. He was taken out of the
game and is listed as tentative for Friday’s game with a
sore wrist. Rondo leads Boston with 9.4 assists and 1.7
steals and is the second-highest scorer on the team.

The Suns have seen this luck once already in their five-
game road trip, with the Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose out
Tuesday with a toe injury. The Suns were unable to take
advantage of the opportunity and lost to the Bulls 118-97.

The Suns might fare better against the Celtics because
Steve Nash and Grant Hill are in better health from the
injuries they sustained just a week ago. Nash scored 26
points against the Knicks on Wednesday and was a perfect
6-6 on the foul line, while Hill and Shannon Brown both
scored 14 points in the win.

The Celtics have been faltering and broke their five-game
losing streak on Wednesday, same as the Suns.
