Report: Gordon agrees to deal, Suns contemplating Beasley offer

The Phoenix Suns brought New Orleans free agent Eric
Gordon in for
a visit Tuesday, and hours later, according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard, the two agreed to
a four-year deal worth roughly $58 million.

Broussard tweeted:

“Eric Gordon told me this: “I strongly feel (the Suns) are
the right franchise
for me. Phoenix is just where my heart is.

Gordon averaged 20.6 points per game in nine games with
the
Hornets last season, and scored 22.3 a night the season
before in Los Angeles.

Of course, as a restricted free agent the Hornets
have the
chance to match any offer Gordon agrees to with another
team,
meaning he may not actually end up in Phoenix.

As for Beasley, the Suns visited the forward in Los
Angeles Sunday
and are expected to host host him in Phoenix Wednesday.

A report by Arizona Sports 620’s John Gambadoro says the
team is considering making him an offer.

Drafted second overall in 2008 by Miami, Beasley spent the
last
two
seasons in Minnesota, averaging a career-best 19.2 points
per game
in 2010-11. He struggled with his role and injuries last
season,
but could be the type of player Phoenix not only needs,
but can actually acquire.

While Beasley is talented, he has off-the-court question
marks that could scare off some teams. But at 6-foot-10
Beasley can
be a matchup problem on the offensive end, which is
something a
scoring-deficient team like the Suns could certainly use.
