For the second time in less than six months, Marquese Chriss and Brandon Knight were reportedly traded together.

A day before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline, the pair of former Phoenix Suns were dealt by their new team, the Houston Rockets, to the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Chriss and Knight, both drafted eighth overall in their respective classes, have gone down winding paths since they each joined the Suns. Chriss averaged fewer than 10 points and five rebounds in his first two seasons and was even dealt a one-game suspension by his own team. Knight tore his ACL in the summer of 2017 and missed a whole season, and would never play another minute for Phoenix.

The pair was eventually traded to the Houston Rockets in August for Ryan Anderson and De’Anthony Melton, and now they’re both reportedly sent to the Cavs in a three-team deal. Multiple reports also indicate that the Rockets will get Iman Shumpert from the Cavs, while other assets will move between the Sacramento Kings and Cleveland in order to consummate the deal.

The move comes after Chriss played just 16 games for Houston, averaging 1.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 6.5 minutes per night with a .324 field goal percentage, all of those numbers serving as career-lows for the third-year power forward.

Knight, 27, has averaged fewer than 10 minutes per game with 3.0 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists. The Cavs will mark his fifth NBA team, as the Kentucky product has already played for Detroit, Milwaukee, Phoenix and Houston.

Coincidentally, the Suns traded Anderson on Wednesday to the Miami Heat for guards Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington.
