Few things are better than when society comes steps up big.

Last week, Mackenzie Moretter of Shakopee, Minnesota, turned 10. Her birthday party was scheduled for Saturday, but with just days left before it, all of the invited guests had declined.

So Mackenzie’s mom, Jenny, posted a message on Facebook asking for at least 10 of her friends to come and bring girls Mackenzie’s age.

To say it worked would be an understatement, as KARE 11 reports roughly 300 people showed up to celebrate.

Included among them was Minnesota Vikings receiver Charles Johnson.

Mackenzie, who was diagnosed with Sotos Syndrome when she was 1, couldn’t have been happier. According to the story, she had a message to everyone who came to celebrate with her.

“I have a hard time making friends in school, but thanks to all of you … my voice was heard,” Mackenzie told the crowd. “I love you all.”
