Phoenix Suns forward Jae Crowder is dealing with a right foot issue that left him sidelined for the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Fox Sports Arizona’s broadcast informed viewers in the fourth quarter. Crowder’s injury was not officially announced beyond that, so head coach Monty Williams was not asked about the forward’s status postgame.

On Arizona Sports’ Bickley & Marotta, Crowder gave the lowdown on his status.

“Had a little foot problem last night. Some tightness in my right foot. X-rays are negative so I’m just taking it day-to-day right now,” he said Thursday.

Crowder said he will be getting a second opinion from a doctor on Thursday night and that he “should be fine within the next few days.”

The Suns’ next game is on Friday against the Detroit Pistons, the start of a seven-game homestand. Crowder is listed on the injury report as doubtful due to right foot soreness.

The 30-year-old played a season-low 13 minutes on Wednesday and did not look like himself on the floor, accounting for three points, two rebounds and an assist. In Monday’s win over the Dallas Mavericks, Crowder logged only 15 minutes and shot 1-of-9 from the field.

On the season, Crowder is shooting 37.1% from the field and 34.3% at three-point range, averaging 10.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He started the first 11 games of the season before Williams made a change, replacing Crowder in the starting lineup with forward Cam Johnson.

With an injury to Devin Booker, Crowder started four more games before returning back to the bench for the last two.

If Crowder were to miss any time, the Suns would be shorthanded on the wing, with Johnson and Mikal Bridges only having Abdel Nader as relief off the bench.

The Suns signed Crowder to a three-year, $30 million deal in the offseason.
