Former NBA player Cedric Ceballos tweeted on Sunday that he is COVID-19 free.

Ceballos tweeted that he is out of isolation because of that designation. However, he is still recovering in the intensive care unit.

“I am COVID-19 free, thank you so much for your prayers and well wishes to help me with that,” Ceballos tweeted. “I still CAN NOT breathe, walk or function on my own yet.”

After mentioning that he was still in the ICU, Ceballos tweeted that he is still asking for support.

“I will still fight and I ask for uplifting on your end,” he tweeted.

Sunday’s tweets was the first update Ceballos gave on his status since he first tweeted about his battle with COVID-19 last Tuesday. He was in his 10th day in the ICU at that point.

He spent part of six seasons with the Phoenix Suns, including the 1992-93 Western Conference championship team. Despite not playing a critical role during the 1993 playoffs, he impressed in the regular season with a league-leading 57.6% field-goal percentage.

Ceballos closed the 1992-93 regular season with 25 straight games of at least 10 points.

He also played for the Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers, where he earned his only All-Star Game appearance in 1995.
