Arizona Sports predicts Cardinals vs. Patriots

The Arizona Cardinals, fresh off a close win over the Seattle Seahawks, head east for a much tougher test in the defending AFC Champion New England Patriots.

Yes, the Cardinals’ first road game is against one of the best the NFL has to offer, and they’ll likely be doing so without their starting quarterback.

Which team will remain undefeated? The experts at Arizona Sports 620 tell you, and we encourage you to post your prediction with a comment.

Vince Marotta I like what I saw from the Cardinals defense in week one, but they’re not playing Seattle this week. Brady and his tight ends will be too much for Arizona to deal with.

Final Score: Patriots 28, Cardinals 17

Doug Franz I would first like to apologize for last week. I said the Cards would win 20-10. Since I was off by 2 FGs, I’m sorry.

This week. I think it will get ugly. A complete bag of tricks for Batiste and Massie to learn from is coming their way.

This defense for Arizona is legit but I think Tom Brady will be able to do a lot more than Kolb will. If the Cards run the ball twice as well as last week, that’s still terrible. Arizona needs the run game to come so far in one week of practice to give them a chance. That’s too much to ask.

Final Score: Patriots 44, Cardinals 17

John Gambadoro Too many offensive weapons for New England for Arizona to contend with. New England is the model franchise, with 11 straight winning seasons. Now I am curious to see how Kevin Kolb fares against a defense that was 31st overall and 31st against the pass last season. New England spent their first six picks in the draft on defense so it should be improved, but only time will tell. The key to beating Brady is pressure, which the Giants have proved in their two Super Bowl wins over New England. Last year Brady was sacked 32 times, the most since 2003. So if Arizona can get pressure on him and knock him around they could hang around this game. If not then it could be trouble.

Final Score: Patriots 27, Cardinals 10
Dave Burns Once again all the focus will be on the quarterback position for the Cardinals and once again, the attention is misplaced. The defense is the reason why this team is 8-2 in their last ten games. And it’s their matchup against Brady and Gronkowski and Hernandez and Welker that will determine the outcome of the game. I can’t wait to see if they can slow down the Patriots enough to give them a chance. As for Kolb and his O-line, playing in a hostile environment is going to be too much for them to handle.

Final Score: Patriots 31, Cardinals 13
Adam Green The last time these teams played each other Matt Cassel was under center for New England and Kurt Warner was throwing darts for the Cardinals. That Cardinals team eventually went to the Super Bowl.

But before that, they lost to the Patriots by a lopsided score of 47-7.

Sure, the weather won’t be nearly as bad this time around and Arizona’s defense is better than it was, but Tom Brady is back and Warner ain’t walking through that door.

A defense can only do so much when its offense can’t move the ball, and at some point Sunday they will break.

Final Score: Patriots 31, Cardinals 13

Joe Huizenga Maybe the Cardinals have the edge in the return game…everywhere else I’d give the edge to the Patriots, that doesn’t bode well for a W.

A Patrick Peterson TD and some lucky breaks on D, maybe this could be a game…or maybe not.

Final Score: Patriots 41, Cardinals 20

Paul Calvisi Paulie Pigskin: Let’s see – if the way to beat Tom Brady is to beat up Tom Brady. And the Patriots O-line includes a new left tackle, new center and new right guard. Hmmm. Any chance the Cards defense makes it tough on Tom? Cards don’t win game, but they win some respect.

Final Score: Patriots 21, Cardinals 20
Charlie Feinerman Tom Brady vs Kolb/Skelton. A matchup equivalent to Chuck Norris fighting any bad guy ever to appear in the show Walker: Texas Ranger. This football game will be no different, as Brady and the Patriots will deliver a roundhouse kick to the face of the Cardinals, sending them to their demise. In this case, their demise will be a very lopsided loss. The only way the Cards win is if Patrick Peterson returns four punts for touchdowns; not likely.

Final Score: Patriots 38, Cardinals 13
Carter Nacke The Cardinals managed to pull it off last week, but this Sunday they face one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The Patriots, behind 350+ passing yards from Tom Brady, are going to roll the Cards.

Final Score: Patriots 41, Cardinals 14
Katy Hartley History is the key to this matchup. The last time the Cardinals beat the Patriots, they were the Phoenix Cardinals. Hopefully we see more of the Kevin Kolb from last week though. And Tom Brady has a busted nose – so obviously he’ll light it up this weekend.

Final Score: Patriots 35, Cardinals 21
