D-backs trade RHP Matt Peacock to Royals for cash considerations

The Arizona Diamondbacks traded right-handed pitcher Matt Peacock to the Kansas City Royals for cash considerations, the team announced Sunday.
Peacock pitched in two games for the D-backs this season prior to being optioned to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.
In 2.2 innings of work, Peacock had a 6.75 ERA after allowing two earned runs. He added two strikeouts and walked two batters in his two games in an Arizona uniform.
The 28-year-old spent the 2021 season with the Diamondbacks as well, appearing in 35 games which included eight starts.

Peacock had a 5-7 record last season to go with a 4.90 ERA after pitching 86.1 innings.
The Diamondbacks drafted Peacock in Round 23 (No. 682 overall) in the 2017 MLB Draft.
Righty Edwin Uceta was called up to the D-backs on Tuesday in a corresponding move.
Since his call up, Uceta has given up two runs in 1.2 innings, both coming in his relief appearance in Sunday’s 6-2 loss to the New York Mets.
The D-backs bullpen struggled on Sunday, giving up four runs after starter Madison Bumgarner allowed one unearned run in five innings.
