There are different ways to make difficult days a little easier. And two Arizona Cardinals, J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins, spent Wednesday showing us just that.

Watt’s good deed dropped in front of him on Twitter. A fan tweeted that she was hoping to sell her J.J. Watt sneakers and a jersey to make a little cash to go toward her grandfather’s funeral.

When he saw it, Watt told her not to sell those things. He’d lend a financial hand and she could keep her Watt gear.

“Don’t sell your shoes and jersey, we’ll help with the funeral,” Watt wrote on Twitter. “I’m sorry for your loss.”

Just the attention Watt’s tweet received appeared to have brought enough attention to pay off the funeral.

Then there was Hopkins, who knew a little effort could mean a ton on a scorching hot day in Arizona that reached 109 degrees by the late afternoon.

He drove around what appeared to be downtown Phoenix in a pickup with a few friends and a bed full of ice and water. The group handed out bottles of water to homeless people.

It may be the offseason with training camp in their sights, but the two relatively new Cardinals leaders had quite the day making a difference.
