The Cleveland Cavaliers swung for the fences to put together one of the NBA’s most intriguing backcourts on Thursday, dealing three players, three draft picks and adding two pick swaps to the Utah Jazz for All-Star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Utah agreed to take on Collin Sexton, who reportedly signed a four-year deal worth $72 million to be included in the trade, as well as Lauri Markkanen and rookie first-round pick Ochai Agbaji.

Cleveland included three unprotected first-round picks and the swaps.

The trade gives the Cavaliers an All-Star backcourt with Mitchell joining 22-year-old Darius Garland, who made his first All-Star team last season.

Mitchell averaged 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.3 assists for the Jazz this past year. The 25-year-old is a three-time All-Star and has three years left on his contract.

The Cavaliers made the trade without giving away their two most valuable players in Garland and 2021 third overall pick Evan Mobley, the versatile power forward.

The Jazz now enter a full rebuild after trading center Rudy Gobert for a massive, pick-centric haul earlier in the offseason.

Sexton is the most important piece heading to Utah. He has career averages of 20 points and 3.3 assists per game but only appeared in 11 games last season for the Cavs before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

Markkanen, the No. 7 pick in the 2017 draft out of Arizona, will now play for his third NBA squad in six years.

He has career averages of 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
