The Phoenix Suns made three roster moves on Tuesday, signing guards Adonis Arms and Saben Lee, while waiving guard Frank Jackson.

Arms and Lee are signed on training camp deals and are not taking up one of the Suns’ 15 traditional roster spots. That number still sits at 14, with an open slot still available for Phoenix to use. Last season, the Suns kept that open until Bismack Biyombo filled it in January.

Jackson across two preseason appearances played a total of nine minutes. The training camp invite wasn’t able to find playing time in the preseason. With injuries to Cam Payne (right finger sprain) and Landry Shamet (left hip strain) for Monday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets, head coach Monty Williams turned to Duane Washington Jr., Josh Okogie, Damion Lee and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot in the perimeter minutes off the bench.

Payne, Shamet, Cam Johnson (right thumb sprain) and Dario Saric (personal reasons) all remain out for the preseason finale on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings. Phoenix could be looking to limit the starters’ minutes in the final exhibition, which is where Arms and Lee could both get some time.

Arms went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Texas Tech. He was a member of the Nuggets’ training camp roster before being waived on Monday. After playing at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix, Arms spent his first two collegiate seasons at Mesa Community College. He then had two years at Winthrop before one final year as a Red Raider, averaging 8.6 points per game.

Lee was selected 38th overall in the second round of the 2020 NBA Draft and was acquired on draft night by the Detroit Pistons. He got a fair amount of run with the Pistons across two seasons, playing 1,385 minutes and posting 5.6 points a night. Detroit traded Lee along with Kelly Olynyk to the Utah Jazz in exchange for Bojan Bogdanovic in September and Lee was waived by the Jazz in training camp.

Lee, like Arms, is also a local product. He grew up in Phoenix and attended Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe.
