Marvin Harrison Jr. turns in best day of training camp, Jeremiyah Love flashes his hands

GLENDALE — The ebbs and flows of Arizona Cardinals training camp continue.

After going viral for the wrong reasons days earlier, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. had his best camp showing of the year on Friday.

Funny enough, the sportsbooks and clickbait sites aren’t picking up as many of Friday’s clips.

His positive plays may not get the type of run as his negative ones — weird to even write that — but it was an encouraging sign for the third-year wideout.

Among his best plays was a toe-tapper on the sideline after again getting great separation. If there’s one massive standout about Harrison’s overall play, it’s the separation he’s getting on a near-regular basis.

Eliminating the random drops is obviously the next step if Harrison wants to fully reclaim the WR1 title Michael Wilson has an edge in. After his multi-drop day, Harrison has been a lot sharper in that department.

Arizona also isn’t shying away from keeping Harrison constantly in the mix. Wilson has been more consistent and hasn’t had a case of the drops this camp, but Harrison is staying on the field much more, especially in 13 personnel looks.

Now, can he keep it up?

Jeremiyah Love vs. Mack Wilson Sr.

Among the 1-on-1 battles this camp, which have recently started as the team focuses on more 11-on-11 work (smart), the competition between Jeremiyah Love and Mack Wilson Sr. has been a fun one.

Wilson got the rookie during the first iteration of the drill on Wednesday. But on Friday? That was all Love.

Taking Wilson deep, Love showed off his burst and his hands. Love has already shown his chops on that side of the ball this camp, but Friday was one of those “wow” moments for the rookie.

“Iron sharpens iron. Mack is a very good linebacker. We make each other better. All the linebackers do. A lot of those guys know ball,” Love said Friday.

“We go out there and compete against each other and at the end of the day, we make each other better.”

Walter Nolen III among Cardinals to exit Friday’s practice

Walter Nolen III has made waves as an early camp standout.

On Friday, however, all eyes were on him for a different reason.

It’s unclear how it happened, but Nolen was seen with a noticeable limp following 11-on-11 work.

He attempted to walk it off, eventually making it back to the sideline before heading to the locker room.

Head coach Mike LaFleur won’t speak again until Sunday. That might be the first update we get on the defensive lineman.

It’s a tough look for Nolen after his rookie season was impacted heavily by injuries. But when he was on the field, he flashed his game-wrecking ability.

He and Darius Robinson need to have a good, healthy season if the unit hopes to take that next step.

Nolen wasn’t the only one hobbled during Friday’s work, either.

Safety Joey Blount was seen walking off the field after 11-on-11 work. Harrison also had a moment when he was limping off the field following defensive pass interference on a deep ball from Jacoby Brissett.

Will Johnson and Paris Johnson Jr. get into it

Since the pads have come on, there have been a few instances of shoving matches after plays.

Friday was the latest example with Paris Johnson Jr. and Will Johnson going back and forth after the lineman put down a hard block on the cornerback.

Cooler heads eventually prevailed, as that’s been about the extent of fighting so far this camp. Luckily for the players, they’ll get a chance to hit someone else soon enough with the Hall of Fame game next Wednesday.
