Cardinals elevate CB Kalen King from practice squad ahead of season opener vs. Chargers

The Arizona Cardinals elevated cornerback Kalen King from the practice squad Saturday ahead of their season opener against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, King appeared in one game across two seasons with the Packers and Carolina Panthers.

King appeared in 38 games in three seasons (2021-23) with Penn State, registering 80 tackles, three interceptions and two forced fumbles. He was named third-team All-Big 10 in 2022 and second-team All-Big 10 in 2023.

King’s elevation comes as the Cardinals will be without cornerback Garrett Williams (Achilles) and safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (ribs) on Sunday.

The Cardinals kick off their season against the Chargers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sunday. Kickoff is at 1:25 p.m.
