Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love is expected to play Sunday in the season opener at the Los Angeles Chargers, ESPN and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported.
Head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters Friday that the rookie would be a game-time decision for Week 1.
Love is officially listed as questionable on the final injury report.
Love said Thursday he was going to “fight his hardest” to be out there on Sunday, but added his Week 1 status ultimately comes down to the coaching staff. The No. 3 overall pick suffered a high-ankle sprain during a preseason game last month.
Josh Sweat was full participant in practice Friday for the first time this week, and general manager Monti Ossenfort told Arizona Sports’ Wolf & Luke the pass rusher is in a “great spot” for Sunday.
LaFleur also said guard Isaiah Adams, cornerback Garrett Williams and safety Dadrion “Rabbit” Taylor-Demerson will all be out for Arizona’s opener.

Arizona pulls off the week one 24-20. Walter Nolen puts a clown suit on their Center Jake Slaughter destroying him like he did in college and is constantly in the backfield in Herbert’s face and has 2 sacks himself responsible for another two flushing Herbert out into the arms of Roy Lopez n Josh Sweat. AZ gets out to a good start week 1.
And lastly Jeremiyah Love has 100+ total yards and 1TD week one.
I like it, although I don't see Love getting 100+ yds unless he breaks a really long one. I think they'll be careful with him and Allgeier gets the majority of touches.
im more worried about the defense. too many questions.
the offense looks pretty good if the line holds up.
