Baseball has not exactly gone to the dogs, but the Arizona Diamondbacks are going to try and bring man’s best friend into the fold in a record-setting fashion.

The team announced on Wednesday it has teamed up with PetSmart, Nylabone and Avoderm Natural Pet Foods to try and set a Guinness World Record for the most dogs attending a sporting event. In order achieve that goal, at least 1,000 dogs will be needed at Chase Field May 1 when the D-backs host the Colorado Rockies.

According to the Guinness World Records organization, this will be the first official attempt at this record, and the judge will account for the dogs when they enter the stadium and decide on the record by the end of the second inning.

First pitch for the game is scheduled for 1:10 p.m, and there will be a pre-game puppy parade around the warning track on the field at 11:45 a.m.
