Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was added to the injury report on Sunday with an illness, according to the team.

Arizona adds Murray does not carry a game status and will play in the team’s regular season opener against the New Orleans Saints.

Saints starting defensive end Chase Young will be out for the Cardinals’ visit to the Caesars Superdome on Sunday, New Orleans coach Kellen Moore told reporters Friday.

Young, the second overall pick from the 202 draft, is dealing with a calf injury. He is coming off a down season from a sack perspective, with 5.5 depiste 17 games played, but he did rank No. 7 in total pressures (66) last year, according to Pro Football Focus.

New Orleans starting guard Trevor Penning (toe) will also miss the game, while safety Jordan Howden (oblique) is questionable.

The Cardinals will be without backup guard Will Hernandez, general manager Monti Ossenfort told Arizona Sports’ Wolf & Luke on Friday morning.

Hernandez, on the Thursday injury report, was limited with a knee issue. He was a late re-signing and is working his way back from a serious knee injury suffered last season.

Defensive lineman Dante Stills popped up on the Thursday injury report with a heel issue, but he was back on the practice fields Friday and is listed as questionable along with backup linebacker Owen Pappoe.

I know there is going to be a desire to show off the card's new pretty little passing game, but the Saints are terrible against the run and have the oldest defense in the league. Don't forget where your bread is buttered and that is the run game. I would at least start in heavy personnel and batter that Saint's box with Just the Tip and Connor. Run it down their throats and beat them into submission.

Hernandez is good to go now but he’s a backup this year as 2nd year run blocking mauler who’s greatly improved n good in pass protection to 6”5-330lb Isaiah Adams is a stud at RG and has earned the starting job. He makes a big jump this year , with his elite insane power/strength w/34.5in long arms I’d bet he posts a 70-72 PFF pass pro grade n elite 80+ PFF grade, like high 70s overall at 77.0-78.0 or somewhere close. He’s was an absolute steal with all the traits to be a top pro bowl caliber guard for a long time to come once developed.
