D-backs’ Corbin Carroll nominated for Roberto Clemente Award

The Arizona Diamondbacks named outfielder Corbin Carroll as its nominee for the 2025 Roberto Clemente Award on Monday.

Carroll was recognized as the D-backs’ nominee in a ceremony at Chase Field prior to their game against the San Francisco Giants.

The Roberto Clemente Award is awarded every year toward an MLB player for their community involvement, philanthropy and contributions on and off the field.

Carroll is a spokesperson for the D-backs’ Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program and a leader for his CC7 fund, which has provided youth baseball and softball teams with lockers full of Nike uniforms and gear.

In July, Carroll surprised D-backs Nike RBI baseball and softball All-Star teams with new uniforms and gear to players from 12 Arizona schools prior to the players heading to a regional tournament in Seattle.

Carroll is also a contributor to the Boys & Girls Clubs where he has provided gloves, gear and uniforms, hosted clinics, surprised kids at practice and spoken at schools.

“It’s important to me personally. Just making sure I’m doing my part to make a contribution to this community that has done so much for us,” Carroll told Arizona Sports’ Burns & Gambo on Monday.

Former D-backs pitcher Curt Schilling won the award in 2001 for his donations toward combating ALS.

Fans can now vote through Sept. 28 for who they think should win the award.
