NFL Draft prospect Tristan Wirfs makes own red carpet for mom to walk

The 2020 NFL Draft is not going to be traditional in any way because of the coronavirus, and that includes the special moments for the top prospects who would normally attend the draft.

Along with the memorable process of hearing their name called, putting on the draft cap, walking onto the stage, shaking the commissioner’s hand and holding up a jersey, there’s also walking the red carpet on the way in the building.

Well, Iowa offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs got creative and did something to make up for that.

Outside his house, the potential top-10 pick made a red carpet for him and his family to walk down.

It’s a nice touch by Wirfs waiting with flowers at the end.

Wirfs is one of the hottest names being discussed in the top-10 of the draft, partially because of the buzz that there could be a run on offensive tackles. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that possibility, and Wirfs is widely regarded as the best tackle of four that could all go in the top-20.

The former Hawkeye has been mocked as high as No. 4 overall to the New York Giants, as well as a fair amount to the Arizona Cardinals eighth. Rapoport also reported that the Miami Dolphins could trade up with the Detriot Lions at No. 3 to target an offensive tackle, presumably Wirfs.
