Xander Schauffele commits to play in 2026 WM Phoenix Open

Xander Schauffele was one of the three golfers announced Wednesday that will tee it up at the 2026 WM Phoenix Open.

Additionally, Viktor Hovland and Tony Finau are scheduled to play in the tournament at TPC Scottsdale. They join a list of big-name golfers who will play in this year’s event, including Scottie Scheffler, Brooks Koepka, Hideki Matsuyama and Rickie Fowler.

“This is the type of group that reinforces how strong and competitive the WM Phoenix Open field continues to be,” tournament chairman Jason Eisenberg said Wednesday. “Xander, Viktor and Tony are proven winners on the biggest stages, and their commitment adds even more depth and quality to an already impressive 2026 field.”

This February will mark the first time Schauffele has played at the Phoenix Open since 2023. He withdrew from the event in 2024 due to injury and did not play in 2025. He was a runner-up in 2021, finishing tied for second with Lee Kyoung-hoon at 18 under par, one stroke behind Koepka, who won the tournament for the second time in his career.

Hovland, a seven-time PGA Tour winner, will be making his fourth appearance at the Phoenix Open, while Finau will be playing in his ninth. Finau’s best finish in the event was as a runner-up to Webb Simpson in a playoff in 2020.

The 2026 WM Phoenix Open will take place at TPC Scottsdale from Feb. 2-8.
