The Phoenix Suns are planning to waive two-way guard Koby Brea, according to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto.
Brea played in 12 games and shot 43.3% from 3 last season but did not see the floor too much due to the amount of depth the Suns had in their backcourt.
A second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, Brea mainly played in the G League on a two-way contract during his rookie year last season. In 25 games with the Valley Suns of the G League, Brea averaged 15.0 points on 38% shooting overall and 36% accuracy from deep. He added 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his 33.4 minutes per game.
He was signed to another two-way contract ahead of the upcoming season. After Phoenix converted Duop Reath to a two-way contract from a training camp deal, the Suns had to waive one of the team’s current two-way players.
