Big man Dame Salane commits to Arizona State basketball
Big man Dame Salane has committed to join the ASU men’s basketball team this season, his manager told 247 Sports’ Dushawn London.

Center Dame Salane has committed to join the Arizona State men’s basketball team this season, his manager told 247 Sports’ Dushawn London.
The 7-foot-1 Senegalese center appeared in 10 games for the Swiss Basketball League’s Lugano Tigers. He averaged 7.8 points on 56.1% shooting and 78.6% from the free throw line. He added 5.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots across 27.5 minutes per game.
Salane marks the latest international commitment for the Sun Devils after center Mor Massamba Diop signed on last month.
Roster outlook for ASU men’s basketball in 2025-26
The Sun Devils have put together a roster largely built on transfers after head coach Bobby Hurley lost nearly his entire team following a disappointing season.

And just as soon as we learn their names, they will be back in the portal. NCAA basketball has become a joke.
Good backup depth at Center. I see Dame as a backup for 6'11 Diop who is a bigger, stronger, more experienced Center. Dame's good at scoring multiple ways within 15' of the bucket, has good footwork, is a good rebounder, and a great shot blocker. His thin stature at 7'1" reminds me of Bol Bol - except he's a poor 3 pt. shooter and only average from the free throw line. Unless he hits the weight room hard, not gonna be ready for the huge B12 centers he'll match up with. A potential threat to force too many turnovers and also to get into foul trouble quickly - unless he shows improvement from past years. Will be good to have both him and Diop together on the team as both are native Senegalese who can support each other.
