State of the Sun Devils Podcast: Can Arizona State live up to expectations in 2025?

On the latest edition of the State of the Sun Devils podcast, Jeremy Schnell, Jesse Morrison and Damon Allred preview the 2025 Arizona State football season.

The Sun Devils have high expectations after making the College Football Playoff last season. They come into the season ranked No. 11 in The Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll and return starting quarterback Sam Leavitt, who is on the Davey O’Brien preseason watch list.

ASU has to replace its best player from last season, running back Cam Skattebo, who is now in the NFL with the New York Giants. Skattebo rushed for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2024 and was the star of the Sun Devils’ Peach Bowl loss to Texas.

ASU will also have to deal with a difficult schedule as it will face No. 22 Iowa State on the road in November, No. 23 Texas Tech at home in October, Utah on the road in October and Baylor on the road in September to open Big 12 play.
