Arizona State-Baylor matchup slated for FOX evening kickoff

Arizona State football’s Week 4 matchup at Baylor will be broadcast on FOX in primetime, the Big 12 announced Monday.

The Sun Devils and Bears will square off at 4:30 p.m. MST on Saturday, Sept. 20, to open conference play for both teams, which are both 1-1 after two weeks.

ASU followed an underwhelming win over NAU in its season opener with a comeback effort at Mississippi State that was outdone in the final moments.

The Sun Devils fell from No. 11 in the preseason AP poll to completely out in Sunday’s update.

Baylor began with a home matchup loss against Auburn before making good on its own comeback effort at SMU in overtime.

Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson won Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for what may have been the Big 12’s best nonconference win to this point. He threw for 440 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Before the conference opener, the Sun Devils will face Texas State, while the Bears have FCS Samford this coming weekend.

The ASU-Baylor matchup will be the first time the teams have played in football since the Sun Devils joined the Big 12 in 2024. The teams have only played once before, a 34-13 ASU victory in 1990.

FOX’s primary slot, Big Noon Kickoff, will feature two of ASU’s following three opponents, Utah and Texas Tech, in Salt Lake City.

Catch Saturday’s contest against Texas State at 7:30 p.m.
