New Orleans Saints rookie and former Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is expected two months with a hamstring injury, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport reported that Tyson has been consulting with experts and could begin the season on the short-term injured reserve. He added that the injury is different from the hamstring injury that plagued Tyson during his final season at ASU last year.

Tyson injured his hamstring during a joint practice the Saints held with the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

It is a tough start for Tyson’s NFL career after the Saints selected him with the No. 8 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Jordyn Tyson’s injury history

Tyson’s past few seasons between his college and NFL careers have been plagued by injuries. During his 2022 season with Colorado, Tyson suffered a multi-ligament knee injury in November, tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL. He missed the remainder of the season and did not play again until 2024.

Tyson had a breakout season in 2024 with ASU, catching 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns. However, Tyson suffered a broken collarbone in the Territorial Cup against Arizona, causing him to miss the Big 12 Championship Game against Iowa State and the Peach Bowl against Texas.

In his final season at ASU in 2025, Tyson led the Sun Devils with 61 catches for 711 yards and eight touchdowns, but he suffered a right hamstring strain in October that caused him to miss three games. He returned in November against Colorado but left the following week in the Territorial Cup against Arizona with a left hamstring strain. Tyson later declared for the NFL draft and sat out the Sun Bowl against Duke.

Look, Captain Obvious dropped a comment below . . . And if my aunt had a set of brass ones, she'd be my uncle. Is Tyson going to be more Aiyuk or N'Keal Harry-?-well, he's got his head on straight , so he'll hopefully avoid those pitfalls, but the dude is fragile. He's an awesome kid, wish him well, and hope he's stays healthy, just not betting on it.

If Jordyn Tyson can ever get past his injury thing, he's going to be an amazing pro.
