Giants running back Cam Skattebo was carted off the field after suffering a gruesome right ankle injury in Sunday's game at the Eagles.

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo was carted off the field after suffering a gruesome right ankle injury in Sunday’s game at the Philadelphia Eagles.
Skattebo’s ankle is dislocated, and he was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, according to the Giants.
Midway through the second quarter, Skattebo attempted to make a catch over the middle of the field, and his right foot and ankle bent awkwardly as he was tackled by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun.

After Skattebo stayed on the ground, players from both teams immediately called for the trainers to come onto the field, and Skattebo’s Giants teammates could be seen reacting to the severity of the injury by praying and yelling out in frustration.

Skattebo was carted off the field, and a large cast was placed on his right lower leg.

There have been no further updates on Skattebo’s injury or the severity of it.
Skattebo scored a touchdown earlier in Sunday’s game when he caught an 18-yard reception from quarterback Jaxson Dart. The score was Skattebo’s second receiving touchdown of the season and his seventh overall.

Entering Sunday, the former Arizona State product has the third-most rushing yards by a rookie this season, with 467 yards.

A gruesome injury does not imply its a dislocation. When being carted off, Scatt's right ankle seemed to be pointed to the right. I hope he can recover. And if he returns, I hope he returns back to the same level he has been playing.
