Former Arizona Wildcat Caleb Love to sign 2-way contract with 76ers

Former Arizona Wildcats guard Caleb Love has agreed to sign a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, according to ESPN’S Shams Charania.

Love, 25, went undrafted in the 2025 NBA Draft and later signed a two-way contract with the Portland Trail Blazers. In 49 games with the Trail Blazers last season in 20.7 minutes per contest, he averaged 10.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and shot 38.8% from the field and 31.8% from 3.

The Trail Blazers moving on from Love comes after they acquired Ja Morant in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, creating a logjam at the guard position for Portland.

Love was a mainstay of the Blazers’ rotation in December and January. The first-year pro had a compelling case for Rookie of the Month in January when he averaged 14.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 27.3 minutes per contest, while shooting 41.4% from the field and 34.5% from 3

But Love was limited to cameos in just four games after Feb. 12 because his two-way contract was never converted (rules limited him to a maximum of 50 games).

In his 49 games, Love reached double figures in 26 of them and had more than 20 points in eight of them.

Known for his high-volume shooting, he averaged 10 field goal attempts per game but in 27 of his games he shot below 40%.

Love began his collegiate career at North Carolina before he transferred to Arizona and played his final two collegiate seasons with the Wildcats.

The 6-foot-3 shooting guard won Pac-12 Player of the Year and made the AP All-American Third Team in his first season with the Wildcats.

In his final season at Arizona, he averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists and made the Big 12’s all-conference first team.

Earlier this year, Love became the 35th player inducted into the Arizona men’s basketball Ring of Honor during halftime of the Wildcats’ game against Texas Tech.
