Chris Johnson explodes for two big runs against Ravens

Watch Arizona Cardinals running back Chris Johnson's 26-yard touchdown against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.

CJ2K has still got it.

We’re talking about the explosiveness that allowed him to rush for 2,006 yards in 2009. It’s the type of speed, power, vision and elusiveness that makes for big plays. Don’t believe us?

ESPN Stats & Info confirmed that Johnson’s still got it with this note.

The Vikings’ Peterson has been considered the class of running backs for the last several years, while Gurley, the St. Louis Rams rookie, has quickly acclimated himself to the NFL this season — he’s averaging a disgusting 6 yards per carry. Not bad company for the 30-year-old Johnson, who appears not to have missed a step.

Johnson only added to his list of 25-plus-yard runs when he broke out a 62-yard run, most of which came after the Ravens thought the play had ended. Johnson rolled on top of a Baltimore defender and the Ravens thought he was down, but he sneakily got back up to tack on another 57 yards. According to ESPN Stats & Info, he now leads the NFL with 288 yards this year coming after contact.

Johnson finished Arizona’s 26-18 Monday night victory with 18 carries for 122 yards and a touchdown.
