Arizona Wildcats add 23 players on first day of signing period

The University of Arizona Wildcats are hoping the recruiting class they inked on Wednesday as part of the 2017 class will help them rebound from a season that saw them go 3-9, with a 1-8 record in the Pac-12.
What was once projected to be one of the best recruiting classes in the Pac-12 ended up suffering due to defections and de-commitments, but in all, Arizona landed 23 players, with that number including five mid-year enrollees.
Ultimately, head coach Rich Rodriguez and his staff added 15 defensive players, seven offensive players and one kicker. The new Wildcats come from seven different states, with California (12) and Arizona (5) leading the way.
Wednesday was the first day on which players could submit their official letters of intent, and Arizona expects to land more players in the coming days and weeks.
