Free agency another sign that Arizona Cardinals are a contender

TEMPE, Ariz. — There was a theme to be found with the three new signees the Arizona Cardinals introduced at their Tempe training facility Wednesday.

Well, two themes if you include the red Cardinals polo shirts each wore when speaking to the media.

But the other theme, the more important one, was that of why linebacker Sean Weatherspoon, defensive lineman Corey Peters and guard Mike Iupati chose the Cardinals. Arizona was not the only team interested in their services, after all, and yet, they all ended up in the desert for a reason.

“I’ve seen them play,” Weatherspoon said. “They started off really hot last year and were one of the hottest teams in the league. I saw a lot of good things that I thought maybe I could come and be a part of.”

“I think they’re building something special,” Peters said. “Of course, they had a very good year last year until injuries kicked in. Honestly, I just feel like they’re right there. They’re going to make some things happen, and I look forward to being a part of that process.”
