According to NFL.com, the league has reached an agreement with the referees’ union late Wednesday to end the lockout.
Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed the officials will work Thursday’s game against the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
“Our officials will be back on the field starting [Thursday] night,” Goodell said.
The NFL and NFLRA released a joint statement to announce they’ve reached a deal.
“We appreciate the commitment of the NFLRA in working through the issues to reach this important agreement,” Goodell said in a joint statement issued by the NFL and NFLRA.
“Our Board of Directors has unanimously approved taking this proposed CBA to the membership for a ratification vote,” said Scott Green, president of the NFLRA. “We are glad to be getting back on the field for this week’s games.”
Earlier Wednesday, the league and refs reached an agreement in principle with the NFL Referees Association.
The replacement officials came under fire during preseason and also the first three weeks of the regular season, most notably a controversial call that ended the Packers and Seahawks Monday Night Football game this week.
