Arizona Sports Fantasy Football Host League: Week 2 recap
Sep 19, 2017, 3:20 PM
Week 2 of the Fantasy Football season for the Arizona Sports Host League saw the year’s first matchup featuring both teams hitting at least 100 points. Find who those two teams were, who won and more in this week’s recap.
Ron Wolfley (Team Wolfley): 88
Paul Calvisi (Team Calvisi): 101
Wolf’s 88 points this week is still better than his 37 in Week 1, but it still wasn’t enough to take home the victory against Paul Calvisi. I guess the positive that we can take away from Wolf’s team this week is that he set his lineup accordingly. Paul’s team was led by Rob Gronkowski with 23 points and Keenan Allen with 19. We could have told you last week, however, that Paul would have come away with the victory just because he was playing Wolf.
Dave Burns (Bold Strategy Cotton): 112
Listener Winner (Dancing with Stanton): 136
Burns’ team really took a hit this week and Jordan Howard was the main reason why. The Bears running back only had seven yards on nine carries and couldn’t haul in his only target, which landed a big fat zero in his lineup. On the other hand, Dave’s wide receivers were very impressive this week landing him 54 points. One word to describe the Listener winner’s team this week would be consistent. Out of nine players in his starting lineup, eight of them tallied double digits.
Dan Bickley (Blinded by the TD’s): 109
Mike Jurecki (Team Jurecki): 91
There is nothing worse in fantasy football than leaving 109 points on your bench and that’s just what Dan Bickley did. Lucky for him, he still was able to pull off the win due to having two players in action on Monday Night Football give him 22 points. Mike Jurecki’s team was led by the Saints, with his top scorers being Drew Brees, Michael Thomas and Coby Fleener.
Doug Franz (I Hate Fantasy): 99
Vince Marotta (That Booty!): 119
Vince was down most of the day to Doug, but came back to seal the victory to remain undefeated in the Arizona Sports Host League through two weeks. Ty Montgomery led Vince’s team with 28 points against the Falcons on Sunday Night Football while Alshon Jeffery followed closely behind with 22 points against the Chiefs. Doug had a very poor showing by his wide receivers (Brandin Cooks, Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs), as they only racked up 16 points out of Doug’s 99.
Bertrand Berry (Daddy Phat $acks): 109
John Gambadoro (Sister Markus Golden Hair): 82
Gambo is about ready to throw in the towel, as the injury bug has hit his team. Last week, it was Allen Robinson to an ACL injury. This week, Gambo’s starting tight end Greg Olsen suffered a broken foot and will undergo surgery. Not only that but his starting wide receiver Jordy Nelson suffered a quad injury and never returned to the game. I think it’s safe to say Gambo will be making some waiver claims this week. Bertrand had a great showing by his tight end Travis Kelce, his quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Broncos defense, as those three accounted for half of his total points.
