Weekend wants

Here’s what I want to see this weekend.
AN OUTSTANDING OUTING
Ian Kennedy pitches Sunday. We know he’s been straddling the fence this year between poor and below average. The chances of the D-backs winning the division while Kennedy struggles is near impossible. I think it will do wonders for him to take a positive outing into the All-Star break.
END ON A HIGH NOTE
The D-backs need to win three of their four games against the Brewers. It’s the only way to erase the bitter taste of the Dodgers’ sweep. Going into the break with a series win gives you a 6-4 homestand. Seven and three would be heaven but sweeping any team in a four-game series is too much to ask for. With advanced scouting and a struggling pitching staff, let’s set the bar at a reasonable place.
SUNS RUNNING
Yes, I have a sickness. I watch Summer League basketball. I can see the Suns getting back to their running ways. The team they’re building is more athletic. The most important thing is to see the Morris’ dominate. Philosophically, they should not be in the summer league. Players you drafted two years ago should be advanced enough that they don’t need summer league training. Kawhi Leonard won’t be playing in the Summer League and he was drafted behind both of the Morris twins. If they’re going to be there, they should tear it up.
SUCCESS ON THE LINKS
I’m playing with Dan Bickley and Arizona Sports 620’s Kyndra de St. Aubin in a big golf tournament this weekend. I’m responsible for big drives in scrambles. The problem is some of those big drives embarrasses every relative I have when I shank one. Hopefully I’ll be able to come home with my head high.
