With the news of Sam Bradford agreeing to a two-year deal with the Arizona Cardinals now official, it’s time to get to work.
Thanks to the Cardinals, fans got a sneak peak of the phone conversation between Cardinals president Michael Bidwill and Bradford, welcoming the newest Cardinal signal-caller aboard.
“Thank you very much for the opportunity,” Bradford said over the phone. “I’m excited to get out there and work. Let’s get this thing going.”
It appears Arizona was the place to be for Bradford as two other teams were interested in signing the quarterback, but decided to join the Cardinals for less money, 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station’s John Gambadoro reports.
Although injuries have plagued Bradford, in his last full season, 2016, he started 15 games and posted a league-leading 71.6 completion percentage to go with his 99.3 passer rating, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions.
And while he will have to get acquainted with new coaches and players, there’s also one other thing; don’t call Bidwill “Mr.”
“You can say Mr. for my father, I go by Mike or Michael so welcome aboard,” Bidwill said.
