Suns catch break with Nowitzki out

The Suns are catching another break on their grueling road
trip with Dirk Nowitzki being held out of Monday’s game
against Dallas.
The Suns, who are 6-9, look to go over .500 for the road
trip. With Nowitzki out tonight, the Suns will have played
teams missing a key player in four out of the five games.
The Spurs didn’t have Manu Ginobili, the Bulls were
without MVP Derrick Rose, the Celtics missed All-Star
point guard Rajon Rondo, and now the Mavericks will be
without last season’s Finals MVP.
Nowitzki helped the 10-7 Mavs beat the Suns earlier in the
season with his 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists on
January 4.
Monday’s game is the 2nd of four games that Nowitzki is
being held out. According to Eddie Sefko of The Dallas
Morning News, Nowitzki will miss four games because of
knee and conditioning issues.
A win against Dirk-less Dallas would still be a win, so
don’t expect the Suns to apologize for catching another
break on the schedule.
