The Arizona Coyotes have recalled forward Conor Garland from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL), two days after forward Michael Grabner took a stick to the eye that will keep him out indefinitely.

Garland, a former fifth-round pick in 2015, has eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 18 games with Tucson this year. It’s a significant uptick in offensive production this far for the Massachusetts native, who scored 27 points in 55 games last year and 14 points in 55 games the year before.

He has never played an NHL game.

The team announced Grabner’s indefinite recovery period on Sunday after he took a stick to the eye from Blues forward Sammy Blais.
