Phoenix Suns fly by Dallas Mavericks in road win: By the Numbers

Dec 6, 2014, 4:39 AM | Updated: 4:40 am

Goran Dragic and the Phoenix Suns looked at home in Dallas when they faced the Mavericks on Friday.

Coach Jeff Hornacek’s squad jumped out to a lead in the early minutes of the game and never saw that go away, ultimately downing the Mavericks 118-106, thanks to stellar play from Dragic, Markieff Morris and a horde of three-point shooters.

On the other side, Dirk Nowitzki struggled while Monta Ellis led Dallas with 33 points.

Suns guards Eric Bledsoe and Gerald Green added strong efforts to the performance, which was good for the team’s 12th win and second straight.

Here’s a look at the win by the numbers:

2:22

After the first 2:22 of the game, the Suns never lost the lead. They went up 7-6 on an Eric Bledsoe three-pointer and led by as many as 18 in the game.

5

With 22 points and 10 rebounds, Markieff Morris grabbed his fifth double-double of the season Friday. Morris hit 8-of-15 field goal attempts and 5-of-6 free throws.

13

Dragic’s 13 assists were good for a season high for the point guard.

18

Mavericks center Tyson Chandler pulled down a game-high 18 rebounds to go along with 15 points, which were tied with Chandler Parsons for the second most on his team.

50

The Suns knocked down half of their three-point attempts, hitting 13 of 26, with Dragic and Gerald Green each with three. The Mavericks had just four in the game, hitting four of 19 attempts.

69

The Suns’ 69 first-half points were a season high. Phoenix has tallied more than 60 in four other games this year.

70

Dragic is on fire over his last two games — scoring 62 points on 21-of-30 shooting (70 percent). On Friday, Dragic hit seven of nine shots inside the three-point arch.

84

Dragic has tallied 84 points over his last three games — with 28 against the Mavericks after putting 34 on the Indiana Pacers and 22 on the Orlando Magic.
