Former Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic makes debut with Miami Heat

Feb 22, 2015, 4:47 AM | Updated: 8:37 am

Former Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic made his debut with the Miami Heat Saturday night.

The Heat were routed at home by the New Orleans Pelicans 105-91, despite Anthony Davis only playing nine minutes when he re-aggravated a shoulder injury in the first quarter.

Dragic started the game, but was unable to score a point until the third quarter. He finished with 12 points, three rebounds and a single assist. It was the fourth time this season and the first time since Nov. 21 (with Phoenix) against the Philadelphia 76ers he had just one assist.

Despite his 33 minutes, the second-most on the team behind Heat’s reserve point guard Mario Chalmers’ 37, Dragic’s plus-minus finished out at -18.

Dragic is shooting 50 percent from the field on the season, but was able to connect on just 36 percent (4-of-11) on the night.

Before leaving Phoenix, Dragic averaged 16.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game this season.

His brother, Zoran Dragic (who the Suns shipped out in the same trade) did not make an appearance in the game.
