Former Suns center Miles Plumlee makes Milwaukee Bucks debut

Miles Plumlee was the only non-guard to be traded from the Phoenix Suns during the team’s many trade deadline deals last week.

Plumlee and rookie Tyler Ennis were sent to the Milwaukee Bucks, while Brandon Knight — along with Kendall Marshall, who was waived — went to the Suns.

Ennis made his Bucks debut Friday in a win over Denver, but Plumlee didn’t check in for Milwaukee for the first time until midway through the second quarter of Sunday afternoon’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.

The third-year center ended up playing 15 minutes for his new team, and his production was similar to what he gave this Suns this year: He made 2-of-3 shots for four points, and he contributed five rebounds (two offensive), one steal, one block and a season-high three assists.

Coming into the game, Plumlee was averaging 4.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, one block and 0.5 assists per game in 54 appearances with Phoenix.

Ennis also got a significant amount of playing time for the Bucks for the second game in a row — something the Suns couldn’t offer him during the first half of his rookie season. The 6-foot-3 point guard made 2-of-6 field goals Sunday for four points, and he dished out three assists and grabbed one board — a similar stat line to his Milwaukee debut.

Former Philadelphia 76ers guard Michael Carter-Williams has yet to make his first appearance for the Bucks, so it’s doubtful Ennis will keep getting a similar amount of playing time once the reigning rookie of the year is ready to go for his new team.

Plumlee’s first game in Milwaukee was spoiled by the Eastern Conference-leading Hawks, who won 97-86, dropping the Bucks’ record to 31-24.
