ISM Raceway in Avondale underwent a name change on Friday after the naming rights sponsorship with ISM Connect came to an end, the raceway announced via Twitter on Friday.

The track was formerly known as Phoenix International Raceway prior to the ISM name change in 2018.

According to a statement from the racetrack, ISM Connect and Phoenix Raceway mutually agreed to discontinue the naming rights sponsorship, but ISM Connect will still continue to partner with Phoenix Raceway and other NASCAR tracks.

“The repositioning of Phoenix Raceway aligns with NASCAR’s integrated sponsorship strategy and supports ISM Connect’s efforts to shift their focus from brand awareness to delivering their next-generation technology at NASCAR facilities,” Phoenix Raceway said in a statement.

And with NASCAR’s 2020 championship weekend at Phoenix Raceway in November, the track will be able to display its new facilities following the $178 million renovations to the raceway in November of 2018.

The FanShield 500 Speed Fest Weekend will also be hosted at Phoenix Raceway in March.
