Last Christmas, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray gave his offensive line some transportation.

He gifted each member with scooters, which have been put to good use. The line monickered themselves the “Wild Hogs” and would often race the scooters. Tackle D.J. Humphries said earlier this month that he uses his often for daily needs.

Murray had to outdo it this year.

“It’s going to be hard to follow that one up. … Any chance I get to hop on the scooter and ride it around the neighborhood, I do,” Humphries said Dec. 15. “I’m excited to see.”

For Christmas 2020, Murray went a little more personalized with the gift.

The quarterback commissioned paintings for every lineman of themselves on the field. The Cardinals’ Twitter account posted photos of the group opening their paintings and posing with them.

Humphries knew Murray would have to go big after he “came here hot” with his gift last year.

“I’m very interested to see how it plays out. We have more wins going into Christmas this year, so, I know he’s a lot happier when we win,” Humphries said.

With an 8-6 record, the Cardinals surpassed the five wins they had by Christmas last year and are in control of their own Wild Card destiny.

It’s worth wondering how big those paintings would have been if the team had managed to be in the driver’s seat of the NFC West come the holidays.

That’s a question next year’s team can try to answer.
