Reactions to Coyotes receiving No. 3 overall pick in NHL Draft Lottery

After the Arizona Coyotes received the No. 3 overall pick in the NHL Draft Lottery Saturday night, the reaction, as one might imagine, was a strong one.
Strong, and fairly negative.
Fans had hoped badly for the No. 1 or No. 2 pick, because many believed a name like Jack Eichel or Connor McDavid could potentially save a franchise and attract even casual hockey fans to Coyotes games.
Instead, Edmonton received the No. 1 pick for the fourth time in six seasons.
With the No. 3 pick, the Coyotes could opt for Dylan Strome or Noah Hanfin, or potentially make a trade including, but not limited to, their pick.
After their fate was announced, the franchise and its fans/writers took to Twitter to voice their opinions on the situation:
.@anthonydleblanc: “We're disappointed but you immediately have to turn your focus to the fact that we have a tremendous pick (at No. 3).”

.@anthonydleblanc: “While I know Coyote Nation is somewhat dejected tonight, they shouldn't be. We're going to add a significant talent.”

LeBlanc upon hearing lottery winner: “It felt like someone punched me in the stomach.”

So Buffalo gets Jack Eichel & the Coyotes will pick No. 3. Hard for Coyotes fans not to be disappointed by that result.

Mother……^&^*$(!!!!! #Coyotes https://t.co/1jD1hUfK5S

And now Connor McDavid must pretend to be excited about heading to the Oilers.

Now McDavid's Oilers will beat Eichel's Sabres in the Cup, the Coyotes are moving to Seattle and we're all going to die

Just the kind of message you want to send to the guy you'll have to pick at No. 2. https://t.co/znUc4qDKeG

@Donna_0903 @ArizonaCoyotes not to say that the kid at 3rd wont be great, but the first 2 will get butts in your seats. Huge business upside

@AZSports @ArizonaCoyotes can we not be reminded anymore tonight?
— Edward Salazar (@kingehdee) April 19, 2015
There are a lot of upset NHL executives tonight after seeing the #oilers get another No. 1 pick. Wonder if the system is examined again.

I wish we had tanked.

@Gambo987 legitimately depressed about this. Can Phoenix sports teams ever catch a break.
— Jordan Evans (@jbobevans1) April 19, 2015
@Gambo987 could this have sealed the fate of this franchise leaving town? We needed a big name to draw fans.

@ArizonaCoyotes Connor McDavid. Pretend he hasn't been picked yet. #Coyotes

Coyotes fans, don’t continue reading if you’re still upset — this Oilers fan got really, really excited about the No. 1 pick:
