Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams could be adding another accolade to his name soon.

Williams is a one of three finalists for Coach of the Year after helping the Suns to a 51-21 record and their first playoff berth in 10 years.

The Suns coach was selected alongside the New York Knicks’ Tom Thibodeau and the Utah Jazz’s Quinn Snyder, the NBA announced Thursday.

Finalists are determined through voting by a panel of sports writers and broadcasters from around the globe.

Earlier this week, Williams was named the 2020-21 NBCA Coach of the Year, an honor voted on by his coaching peers.

Before his arrival, the franchise went four straight seasons without surpassing 25 wins in full 82-game schedules.

Williams has gone 85-60 in his two regular seasons with the Suns, guiding them through coronavirus protocols, the bubble and a roster reshape that landed Chris Paul and was led by general manager James Jones.

Phoenix won its first Pacific Division title since 2007 this year and was one of four teams that finished the season in the top-10 of both offensive and defensive ratings.
