The Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets will square off for a matinee game Wednesday that will air exclusively on YouTube.
The D-backs will toss out the first pitch at 12:40 p.m., and the game will air on the radio on ESPN 620 AM.
Arizona enters the afternoon game having won two of its last three, an improvement after the team lost 13 straight prior to this three-game stretch.
Left-handers Madison Bumgarner of the D-backs and David Peterson from the Mets will earn the starts for their respective clubs.
Bumgarner (4-5, 5.15 ERA) has gone through a rough patch with 11 earned runs allowed over his last two starts, both losses.
Peterson (1-4, 4.91 ERA) had one of his worst outings this season against Arizona. On May 7, he lasted 1.2 innings after allowing three earned runs and three walks before the Mets pulled him in a 5-4 New York victory that required extra innings.
The Diamondbacks’ lineup on Wednesday will feature Ildemaro Vargas at second base. The infielder who played for Arizona from 2017-20 gets the start after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for cash considerations on Tuesday.
