Ole Miss hoops coach spoofs Rob Lowe DirecTV ads

Jul 10, 2015, 9:22 AM | Updated: 9:29 am

You remember those DirecTV spots that ran in seemingly every television commercial break over the last couple years?

Sure you do.

“I’m Rob Lowe and I have DirecTV … and I’m painfully awkward Rob Lowe, and I have cable.”

Turns out the cable companies didn’t like some of the info being portrayed in the spots, so they’re gone and Lowe has been replaced by supermodel Hannah Davis and a talking horse — which is both sad and fantastic (sadtastic?) at the same time.

Well, the Rob Lowe format has made its way to college hoops season ticket pitches.

Ole Miss head coach Andy Kennedy revisits the ads in hopes of luring people to Rebels games at their brand new arena, The Pavilion at Ole Miss.

Pretty well done, Ole Miss. Although, “Randy” Kennedy needs to watch his pronunciation of the word “city.” Just sayin’.
