The Arizona Coyotes have signed goaltender Carter Hutton to a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The 35-year-old Hutton registered a 3.47 goals against average and a .886 save percentage in 13 games with the Buffalo Sabres in 2020-21.

The Thunder Bay, Ontario, native has totaled a 94-88-27 record with a 2.71 goals against average and a .909 save percentage in 232 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues and Sabres.

With the addition of Hutton, the Coyotes now have five goalies on their roster: Carter Hutton, Ivan Prosvetov, Josef Korenar, Karel Vejmelka and David Tendeck.

During his nine-year career, Hutton has recorded over 1,000 minutes played in six of those nine seasons.

The move is among a flurry of acquisitions on Wednesday, with Hutton joining Ryan Dzingel and Liam Kirk as new additions to the roster Wednesday. Arizona on Wednesday also traded goalie Darcy Kuemper to the Colorado Avalanche for a 2022 first-round pick, a 2024 conditional third-round pick and defenseman Conor Timmins.
