State Farm and the Arizona Cardinals finished the agency’s second fully virtual Back 2 School Supply Collection Drive on Thursday.
The drive was held from June 28 – July 9 and a total of 567 backpacks (8,505 supplies) were gifted to the Laird School in Tempe.
This means that every one of its 520 students from kindergarten to eighth grade will receive a filled backpack.
The supplies were distributed on Thursday’s Meet the Teachers Night. Both State Farm employees at Marina Heights and representatives from the Cardinals organization helped give out the materials on-site.
Laird School is part of the Tempe School District, which serves 12,000 students. Seventy-five percent of the students’ families qualify for free or reduced lunches.
