Following the Arizona Cardinals’ 37-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, reporters were wondering if coach Kliff Kingsbury would enjoy Los Angeles night life.

“Not so much,” Kingsbury said. “I’ll watch Ted Lasso tonight and go to bed.”

Kingsbury believes that there are many similarities between himself and the hit Apple TV show’s main character.

“There are some real parallels between Ted Lasso and myself,” Kingsbury said. “Like the epic YouTube dance video. Y’all were at my press conference, it was essentially the same one Ted Lasso had, where everyone was like, ‘Is this some kind of a joke?’ And then he’s weirdly positive all the time.”

In the show, Lasso is a football coach at Wichita State before he was named manager of English Premier League soccer squad, AFC Richmond.

Lasso is known not only for his positive demeanor at all times, but using real world experience to grow his players into complete men.

In both of their third years, quarterback Kyler Murray and Kingsbury have evolved together.

The Valley has a coach who has led the Cardinals to the best record in football through four weeks, and a quarterback who is atop many polls for league MVP.

Lasso told his players to “believe” with a sign in the locker room, and in many ways the Cardinals are all in on that message with Kingsbury for 2021.
