The Arizona Cardinals officially activated linebacker Chandler Jones and defensive lineman Zach Allen off of the reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday.
Additionally, the team released running back Tavien Feaster from the practice squad.
Jones was back in the facility Friday but did not get the green light to play in Sunday’s 31-5 win over the Houston Texans after getting an evaluation from the team.
Through five games, the linebacker has five tackles for loss, 14 QB hits, two forced fumbles and five sacks, all of which came in the season opener.
With Jones sidelined, linebacker Markus Golden has filled in admirably, recording back-to-back two-sack efforts to go along with five QB hits and two forced fumbles.
Allen is having a strong start to the season, starting four out of the five games played. He has one sack, 10 tackles and two QB hits so far this year.
The news of the duo’s return comes soon after Arizona’s Week 8 opponent, the Green Bay Packers, placed star wide receiver Davante Adams on the COVID-19 list.
Green Bay had already been impacted by COVID-19 with defensive coordinator Joe Barry testing positive for the virus earlier Monday morning. He’s likely to miss Thursday’s matchup.
The Cardinals take on the Packers in a battle of two of the top teams in the NFC on Thursday night at 5:20 p.m. Catch all the action live on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
